Copy vs Original Question II

Do you state up front that you only trade originals? Do you expect to be told if the trader is trading copies. If you are the person trading copies, are you up front about what you are trading? If you did a 3/3 blind trade(as an example) would you be upset if you sent originals, and received copies in return? How often has this happened to you?

I've never thought to mention that my atcs are original. Likewise by the people I have traded with. They don't mention it either. I have received copies, and was a little taken aback, because I hadn't expected them. They were really nice though. This has happened to me twice.

I would like the people I trade with to let me know if it will be an original trade or copies, if copies.. I can send them copies. if originals.. I will send originals. If it is a blind trade.. I would still like to know if I'm getting copies or originals.

When arranging or agreeing to a trade, I do stipulate that my cards are originals & that I will only trade for originals. Like Nenny here, I have been duped with copies a few times & have been miffed. I don't have the ability nor money to make numerous coloured copies of my work. Nor do I wish to receive copies in trade. In my books, copies are used for secondhand trades and/or are given to newbies coming in to the ATC world - ONLY in that it gives them ideas on what can be done IN THE ORIGINAL. I am a purist when it comes to ATCs ... what else can I say.

I believe in being honest and up-front in ALL of my life! I am brand new to this medium, but I will always give accurate information with every trade, sale, etc. I think it should be plainly marked on the back of every card. That's certainly the way I will do it. Copies are OK with me, as long as I know what I'm getting...and, yes, I think I would only trade copies for copies, originals for originals.
